ReportAll’s story began with an entrepreneurial vision and a simple goal: to create a regional, web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) that made spatial, demographic and parcel information accessible and useful. Through innovation and sustained growth, that story has continued for 20 years, with ReportAll becoming an industry-leading nationwide parcel data provider through multiple technologies and products.
Where it all began
In 2005, Allie Schuring and Joe Harwood established GeoPlex Consulting LLC after studying at Kent State University, providing GIS consulting and project services to local and regional government organizations. In 2006, they met David Fuhry and Bob McGee and founded Real Estate Portal USA, the company that would become ReportAll. With complementary expertise in geography, technology, real estate and business development, Real Estate Portal USA was built around making fragmented property data standardized and usable at scale.
In its early years, the company was a small operation with hands-on leadership and a focus on building reliable technology. In a short time, they developed a normalization process to turn disparate local government records into consistent, reliable information that can support businesses and organizations across real estate, energy, infrastructure, government, technology, insurance and other industries that depend on accurate property information.
Continued growth through innovation
Beyond increasing the size of its database, ReportAll repeatedly developed best-in-class parcel data products that changed how professionals access parcel information to power their businesses. It began with its online parcel database, allowing users to search nationwide parcel data by owner name, address or parcel number (APN). With the popularity of Google Earth, ReportAll’s PARLAY 2.0 (PARcel LAYer) product gave users a layer to visualize its comprehensive, reliable property data in the world’s most detailed virtual globe application.
As smartphones and the growing mobile market expanded, ReportAll launched its LandGlide app in 2015, combining comprehensive nationwide parcel data with GPS technology. This allowed users to pinpoint their location in relation to parcel boundaries while accessing dozens of attributes at their fingertips. “We wanted to have a product in the vibrant and fast-growing mobile market, and we knew it would be powerful when real-time GPS location could show you where you were standing compared to the property line,” said David Fuhry, PhD, co-Founder and CTO. “Especially then, mobile devices were limited in processing power and capacity, so part of the challenge was to make our large nationwide database available on those platforms.”
With millions of downloads and hundreds of thousands of active subscribers, LandGlide expanded to desktop in 2021, allowing industry professionals to search properties and manage saved locations in the field or in the office with a single subscription.
Developing the ReportAll API and Feature Service allowed software engineers and GIS professionals to integrate ReportAll data into their applications and Esri-compatible workflows. This live data access let them work with continuously updated information without relying on manual downloads and imports.
These products, along with its National Parcel Layer, Data Store and ReportAll Online tool, have provided multiple ways to access nationwide parcel data, all to support individuals, field teams and enterprise users.
Today and beyond
Today, ReportAll serves a much broader audience than its original regional GIS customers. Its success comes not only from the quality and quantity of its parcel data — covering 161+ million parcels across 100% of U.S. counties — but from its growing team across data, development, operations, sales, administration and support who, every day, work to refine, expand and deliver the nation's most accurate and comprehensive parcel data to help solve real customer problems.
The data now goes even beyond U.S. borders with select international parcel data, comprising approximately 50 million additional parcels in Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand. This expansion brings ReportAll’s data standards to a global audience.
ReportAll’s 20 years spent developing the nation's parcel data infrastructure have laid the foundation for a new dimension of property and land intelligence. The story continues as the vision moves beyond understanding where properties are and what attributes they contain and toward understanding how they have changed.
“ReportAll isn’t just about going beyond in coverage or deeper in detail. It’s about seeing space through time,” said Joe Harwood, co-founder and CEO of ReportAll. “With a vast historical dataset and the ability to deliver new updates in industry-leading time, ReportAll connects where things are, what they were, and how they’re changing. More than coverage. More than depth. ReportAll adds the dimension of time.”
